OSRS Leagues Discord

Having maxed my oldschool account in 2016, I lost a lot of interest in the game since I was not into PvMing and only really enjoyed skilling. I spent time getting 200m's but also eventually got bored with that too. When I first heard about the seasonal game mode, Leagues, I was so excited.

In 2019, a few months before the release of the first League, the Twisted League, I created a discord server to build resources, plan strategies, and gather players to join in one spot to share information freely about ideas for the League. Since then, the server has grown to over 13,000 members! Leagues brought be back into the oldschool scene and really reignited the love I have for oldschool again.

Because of Leagues, I engaged in the following projects:

• A tool to show all shops in any given region.

• A tool to show all NPC spawns for any specific NPC.

• Categorizing NPCs by Trailblazer(Leagues 2) region.

• The ability to search ground items for any specific item or region.

• The ability to search for an item and see all shops it is in.

• A list of interactable objects per region (tree, loom, furnace, etc..)

Most of these were possible from the OSRS SQL Cache project.

Another fun project that I was able to do for the discord server was a Leagues bot that automatically updated the discord ranks of members based on their ranking in the current League. So if they were ranked Dragon by their current standings in the League, they received the Dragon discord rank (done by manual bot commands or updated automatically daily). The bot also grouped all of the server's members into a personal discord server hiscores so we could see who in the server was doing the best.
